How to Stream & Share Videos from Android to iPhone (or any device/pc)

How to Stream & Share Videos from Android to iPhone

Do you have a movie or a video on your Android phone? And you want to watch it on your friend's iPhone?

We all know sharing files between Android and iPhone is a big headache. Bluetooth takes forever. WhatsApp reduces quality. And "Move to iOS" app is only for new phones.

But don't worry! I will tell you a super simple way to stream and share videos from your Android to iPhone using the WifiOTT app.

Best part? No Internet needed. You just need both phones connected to the same WiFi (or Hotspot).

Why Use WifiOTT?

  • No Cables: Totally wireless.
  • High Speed: Uses your WiFi speed, not internet data.
  • No Installation on iPhone: You don't need to install any app on the iPhone. Just use Safari browser.
  • No copy needed : No need to download/send videos or files to the device to watch them. They can be in your android device and all local devices including PC's can watch them without downloading.

Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these simple steps:

1. Connect to Same WiFi

First, make sure your Android phone and the iPhone are connected to the same WiFi network. You can also create a hotspot in either the android or iphone and make the other devices join it. The point is that they should be in same network locally.

Tip: If you don't have WiFi at home, just turn on Hotspot on your Android phone, and connect the iPhone to that Hotspot. It works perfectly!

2. Open WifiOTT App regarding

Open the WifiOTT app on your Android phone. You will see a clean home screen.

3. Select Videos or Folders

Now, you need to choose what you want to share.

  • Click on "Pick Files" button to select specific videos.
  • Or click on "Pick Folder" if you want to share a full folder (like a "Movies" folder).

Give permission if the app asks. This is safe, it just needs to read your video files.

4. Start the Server

Once you have selected your files, you will see that the app tries to index the files/folder that you selected.

Now, simply click the big "Start Streaming Server" button.

The app will show you a URL (a web address). It looks like this: http://192.168.1.5:8080 (Your numbers might be different).

Troubleshooting Tips

  • URL not working? check if both phones are on the exact same WiFi.
  • Using Hotspot? Ensure mobile data is OFF if you want to be sure it's using local connection (though it works with data too, but why use data?).
  • Firewall? If you have any firewall app on Android, allow WifiOTT.

Conclusion

See? It is that simple. No need to buy expensive cables or use slow Bluetooth. Just use WifiOTT and turn your Android into a text streaming server.

Happy Streaming! 🍿
